Denert & Balichon #6406 - Lobsters (Crayfish) - Ca 1925

A previously unknown—and therefore very rare—stoneware vase made by Denbac (Dénert et Balichon) in Vierzon, featuring four sculpted crayfish serving as feet and a magnificent drip glaze.
While Denbac is known for Art Nouveau-style vases featuring scarabs, stag beetles, and other figures such as elephant heads, this particular vase has—to the best of our knowledge—not yet appeared in the literature.
The glazes on the vase, and especially on the crayfish, are of exceptionally high quality, reminiscent of the glazes found on earthenware pieces from around 1900 by artists such as Delaherche and Dalpayrat.
