Helene Maynard White (born May 26, 1870 in Baltimore; died after 1926) was an American sculptor, portrait painter, and muralist.
Life
White studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia under William Merritt Chase, Mary Nimmo Moran, Cecilia Beaux, and Charles Grafly. She traveled to Paris, where she continued her studies. There, she created various figurines in the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles with titles such as Horus, Oriental Lady With Umbrella, and Oriental Man. Later, she returned to Philadelphia, where she created murals in St. Andrew's Cathedral and painted countless portraits of prominent figures.
She was a member of the Plastic Club of Philadelphia, the Lyceum Club of New York, and the Three Arts Club, among others. Exhibitions and Prizes
