Louis Riché (1877-1949) studied together with Georges Gardet and Léon Perrin. In 1905 he becomes a partner in the Salon des Artistes Français, where he already exposed since a couple of years where he receives an hounorable mention in 1897, as well as medals in 1903, 1905 and 1923. From 1923 he also takes part at the Salon des Indépendents.
Apart from cats he creates other animals as dogs and animals of prey.
For theManufacture Nationale de Sèvres he creates a couple of cat figures in porcelain as well.
