Very amusing and rare early Daum vase with an etched and enameled image of a hen with a rooster and chicks in a yard with blooming crocuses on so-called "rosted" opaline glass from ca. 1897.
The subject is rendered with extreme fine detail; a high-quality example of the skill of the Daum brothers in the early Art Nouveau period.
Signed in gold enamel Daum, Nancy, and a Lorraine cross on the base.
