WMF #5772 - Art Nouveau Wine Jug with Faun and Bacchantes
Richly decorated Art Nouveau wine jug in silver-plated "Britannia" metal with typical period depictions of Bacchantes, a Faun with a pan flute, and a putto surrounded by grapes and vines, clearly representing a wine festival.
Beautiful and sharply detailed. 1903-1905.
The interior of the jug is gilded, and it has clearly never been used. The jug was donated to or by the men's choir in Ludwigsburg in 1905.
