A porcelain Art Nouveau Sèvres vase such as rarely appears on the market, made in 1900.
A combination of two special techniques typical of Sèvres, namely a crystalline drip glaze above Blue Sea Holly Thistle flowers and leaves that are applied in the so-called "Pâte-sur-Pâte" technique, in which the decoration is applied with porcelain slip to the vase once fired, which gives a deepening effect.
Beautiful colours and infinitely fine and sharply detailed.
