Beautiful large Art Deco sculpture of a striding lioness by Christian Aeckerlin (1884 Darmstadt - 1943 Stuttgart).
Cast bronze with dark brown patina. Standing on a rectangular bronze plinth. Signed “CH. AECKERLIN”, with foundry mark “Düsseldorfer Bronzegiesserei G.M.B.H.”
Powerfully caught by the stylized muscle bundles that emphasize the power and pride of this animal. The concentrated look and the determined attitude show a wonderful predator searching for prey.
