Daum #4986 - Prunellier (Blackthorn) - Ca 1905

Exceptional free formed vase by Verreries Daum, Nancy, with decoration "Prunellier"(Blackthorn), Ca 1905.
Multi-layered glass with vitrification inclusions, partly transparant.
The leaves were formed and hand-carved by a master-craftsman during the cooling process.
The beautiful blue berries where applied when the glass was molten and thus giving a very lively effect.
This superb example shows the colors and details that were achieved by these sophisticated techniques.
