Daum #5417 - Campanules - Ca 1910

The vase is decorated with harebells (campanules), which appear to grow subtly over the surface of the vase and has an etched, pink ground that has a soft, delicate appearance. The flowers are shown in bright pink or deep pink tones, which contrast with the light, pastel background. The combination of the matte etching and the glossy enameled flowers and green leaves creates a dynamic effect of light and shadow.

These flowers symbolize fragility and beauty, typical of the Art Nouveau aesthetic.

For Daum, this is a decor that does not often come onto the market and is apparently why it was executed in such detail and with great care.

Signed Daum Nancy and Lorraine cross, height 46 cm.
