Albert Bartholomé #5302 - Tristesse - 1900

Bronze statue of a grieving young woman by Paul-Albert Bartholomé made in 1895, the marble original of which is in the Musée d'Orsay.
In this image, Bartholomé expressed the sadness he experienced after his wife deceased.
Bartholome was also commissioned by the painter Guillaume Dubufe to create a bas-relief of this statue for the tomb of the Dubufe family on Père-Lachaise.
The statue was executed by the Siot Decauville foundry in Paris.
Provided with signature and foundry stamp. Height 24 cm.
