Emile Gallé #71 - Corail - Ca 1903

A rare 40 cm tall vase by Emile Gallé, conceived around 1903 with intercalaire under sea decoration. Between several layers of glass a separated world of white coral, that is partly covered by an external layer of weaving seaweeds.
The inner layer of blue glass evokes, by the thus created perspective, the illusion of a visit to the bottom of the sea.
Here and there a sea snail as an accentuation.
